Alfonso Guillén Zelaya, born on June 27, 1887, in Juticalpa, Honduras, was a Honduran poet, essayist, and journalist. Only sixty of his poems survive today, all of which are compiled in El Quinto Silencio (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras, 1994). He died on September 4, 1947.
