When Blossom Drapes The Orchard Boughs

When blossom drapes the orchard boughs Like freshly fallen snow, When sleeping lands begin to rouse And slowly start to grow, When daffodils do grace the way And shine like burning gold, It is indeed a fine display When springtime does unfold. When bluebells light the woodland floor No better place to be, Than when that ocean sweeps before In all its majesty, And when the hawthorn's dressed in white And borders every field, It fills my heart with such delight To see it thus revealed. When daisies in the meadow rise And open in the sun, And swallows swarm the April skies I know that spring's begun, And when the birds shall sweetly sing From every branch and tree, Each joyful note that they will bring Shall mean so much to me. When blossom drapes the orchard boughs Like freshly fallen snow, When sleeping lands begin to rouse And slowly start to grow, When winter's cold is at an end And browns then turn to green, Those precious gifts the spring shall send The greatest ever seen.
