A Springtime Gift To Nature
A Aniruddha Pathak

To grudging mankind far and wide
Nature's been a faithful good friend—
All Nature, far and close at hand,
At beck and call, ready to guide;
Still, what has man done for this friend?
Having her goodness exploited,
Refusing wanton ways to mend,
From heaven hell hast man Earth made.
Late, let him rise from selfish drift,
Give Nature a belated gift—
A gift needed never more ere,
O by being her friend so rare.

The time to give a Christmas gift has gone, gone has the time for a New Year gift. But spring season is upon us. Let man consider giving a gift to nature on the occasion by being its friend. For long has Nature unilaterally given to mankind its all, expecting nothing in return, but time has come when Nature needs a helping hand, a gift from us. Shall man come forward and oblige?
