An Ode To Freedom -Ii
A Aniruddha Pathak

If a life-long prison impacts so much,
What about birth after birth of life cycles?
Man's used to life of incarceration,
A prisoner to be life after life,
Freedom and liberty seems not his way—
Getting born, live in locks of sort, and die,
How to get rid of this lifetime's habit?
Habit of hailing life time and again,
Many came to liberate as in France,
Mankind behaved as did those prisoners.
Came Krishna, Buddha, Mansoor and Jesus,
All did their best to wake up men asleep,
For a while some awareness spread,
But always back to old comfy ways!
Krishna died heart broken and dejected,
Buddha forgotten oh in his own land,
Poor Socrates was poisoned O to die,
Christ was hanged and brutally killed,
Meera too was offered a bowl of bane
O for breaking a good old tradition,
Yet, all they did: to wake those long asleep.
Safety there's no doubt behind prison walls,
And comforts in the confines of stiff walls,
Me and mine is never seen in freedom,
Yet liberty means insecurity,
How can one sleep in comforts in open?
Only adventure can lead to freedom,
Blue skies beckon to birds; man is no bird.
Starting life as a gatherer to store,
One day man had to build a storage door!
