Comes True Worship From The Deep
A Aniruddha Pathak

Tired by the noise of life
He climbed up temple steps, catharsis rife,
And wondered what he'd offer to deity:
There's not a lamp to light,
Nor are flowers in sight,
He fell to his feet with thoughts of anxiety,
And offered his long suppressed rage,
And lo, his soul felt better, freed of cage!
God never wants an offer of flowers,
He feels, they look better on their bowers.
He wants money, nor fruits,
He'd rather that you look unto your roots
And offer Him whatso evil therein
That you come all cleansed from within.
Such true service if done to Him,
True darshan of His should one deem!
