He That Loves Here And Now

Let people dwell in hist'ry as much can, Let them love time-stealers called ‘was' and ‘will', He that loves here and now is happy man. Vaguest of birds, as flightless as are vain, From here or else hailing from yon of hill, Let historians dig in dunghills like hen. If what goes never does return again, Fleeting moment is all one may have, still, He that hails here and now is happy man. The tale of man ever since Time began, Man's always fallen in traps, same evil, What use pouring unto fine prints of pen? Naught whatso changes more relentless than This twain of time-wasters of wanton will, Whoso likes here and now be happy man. The past pans out just as we choose to pan, And morrows melt to nought in frozen chill, Let an ostrich hide in hist'ry in vain, To love here and now's to be happy man. ___________________________________________________ Villanelle | 06.10.12 | Topic: happiness, here, now
