Pain Is Never In Vain

Pain seems eternal and forever born,
Yet, man's not born to bow, bent by his head,
Hopes held high, let pain be a potent norm,
Buds bear weather and rich blossoms are bred.
Let pain its worst do— tallest crests to cling,
If it pushes me to my journey's end,
Let troubles stare at me autumn or spring,
To me means of samemeasure be as end.
For, art of life is not avoiding pain—
Pain reigns in life on par with pleasure,
As punishment's endurance measure,
For, pain is it that life stays somewhat sane.
Or else, why should a new born suffer pain?
Endurance builder, pain's never in vain.
