To Raise A Child
A Aniruddha Pathak

Altın Yaprak
Wide-eyed we waste years of a child
Doctoring, energies we lock,
Ignorant, his creativity block,
Killing vision, his wit so wild;
And ‘pon wasting his tender years,
Not letting him wow his own walk,
Teaching him to stay nearby, nice and dear,
This, nor that and follow the flock;
We, so busy to preach and teach
By dictates of an oft-spelled word,
We let him not his talent to reach,
Letting his world thoroughly blurred,
Lame, he learns never to walk his talk,
Hostage of clock he walks alien walk.
And when poets with sanguine pen
Say: child a father is of man,
We hail, giving all ten of ten!
