Wag Your Mind's Tail And Bliss Would Sail

Ah what a doggie this, Always in a joyous bliss, I know, how he wags his tail, Happiness sets when a sail. But it's not that he wags tail Whenever he feels happy, Rather, once he wags his tail, Lo and behold, he's happy! Bliss has ever-lasting poise, And is a matter of choice. The essence of man is bliss, But man seems forever blasé. Let him start wagging mind's tail, And the breeze of bliss would sail. And that killjoy in mood grey, Let not ego come in way. Let a man be dog a while, And wag mind's tail with a smile, Happiness is no response, Deep within it lives ensconced. _________________________________________________ For this poem I was inspired by a piece in The Times of India, under its feature called The Speaking Tree: Retro-causality, Happiness and The Wagging Tail, by Deepak M Ranade, a neurosurgeon. ___________________________________________________________ Reflections | 18.03.2020 | Topic: Happiness, joy, bliss
