Your Hug Or A Passing Dream
A Aniruddha Pathak

The parting hug of yours this morn
Ere you tore ‘way from me at dawn,
Looked as if I was lost in dream,
Flustered, I broke some sweat cold
But it did to me so seem:
Some moments are made of gold.
Were it my passion's passing reverie
Made but of fluffy memory
O soon to fade off in time,
And leaving me in utter strife,
Though robbed of a good rhyme,
It remained well ensconced in life.
And were it so what would I deem?
I know not: but it does so seem
That tighter held faster things slip,
Much like grains of sand that creep
Thru the fingers in a tight clasp,
Howso mindful the sand we grasp.
So was your hug— even if in a dream,
Whatso it be, not apart to me seem.
