Some years ago,
I saw it
In this important sphere
With its brightest
And loveliest feature,
That time it was
The best treasure
Of this great world,
People stared at it in wonder
And praised it effusively,
Today I see it again,
But alas!
It has lost its beauty
And brightness altogether
By the ruthless cruelty
And treachery of the polluted earth,
Still I can see and feel
With my noble eyes
A little mark of its glory
And magnificence in its deepest cell,
For this I can recognise it.
