Cry Of Joy

O joy, how long can I hold you in my heart all alone? Since your birth, my heart dances with you, sings with you, plays with you. Seeing you thirsty, my heart empties itself and feeds you. But now, my heart is old, frail and fragile. It cannot dance with you anymore, sing with you anymore. It cannot kiss your beautiful lips anymore. O joy, My heart is old and frail. So, it looks for a friend who can take you to his home and call you his own. My heart looks for a friend- who would smile, seeing you smiling; who would sing, seeing you singing. But alas! None is out there. The cry of my heart echoes in space and dies all alone- like the tune of a flute which travels earth sea and space looking for a friend to dance with; but it finds none, and dies all alone. O joy, is this because you have kissed my lips; so, others don't want to kiss you? You belong to everyone. Anyone can kiss you, anyone can love you, anyone can call you his own. You are born in womb of God's smile. You are pure, sacred, divine. You can never be possessed by anyone. What a tragedy of human, o joy! While you desperately look for a home none is there to house you. Yet, man cries in darkness of dungeon complaining they don't have you. They are eager to house sorrow, but averse to you. Forgive us o joy, Forgive human ignorance. © অরুণ মাজী Arun Maji
