The River Within Me

When I see Sun being shadowed
by shadows in eyes of starving children,
the river within me wants to flow.
But I don't allow her to flow.
When I see song of flute being shadowed
by laughter of swords and bullets,
the river within me wants to flow.
But I don't allow her to flow.
When I see shine of virtue being shadowed
by snarl of violence and blood-thirst,
the river within me wants to flow.
But I don't allow her to flow.
When I see whisper of my love being shadowed
by tease of my greed and cruelty,
the river within me wants to flow.
But I don't allow her to flow.
There is a river within me
that is dying to flow.
But I don't allow her to flow.
I must not allow her to flow.
Why should I? Why?
If this world loves desert so much
then why should I nourish a river?
