Adil Jussawalla is a poet of the sixties,1960's;
of the post-independence period,
a modernist and a post-moderist as well.
His poetry is poetry of poetic fragmentation,
the disintegration of the self,
of exile and alienation.
A poet of the no-man, a commoner, an unknown citizen,
writing poetry of disintegration,
self-annihilation.
Angst, loss and bewilderment, urbanity and hollow men,
waste land, barren land,
meaninglessness.
