Baisakh has come,
Poila Baisakh,
Best wishes for the new year
Seconded by greeting cards, good dishes,
Bouquets of flowers and greetings
And festivities awaiting
With a shift in time and climate
Though it is summer
Lying in wait for clouds and rains,
Fortunes to take a swing
As for a new start.
