Tomb Of The Unknown Poet

Long ago I walked your dunes, hearing your heartbeat full of pain The rhythm of your echoing words, cast a spell, so that I should remain Caught in verses, penned with tears, fading ink, like an old tattoo With tears I swear, to be buried there on Sandra's lonely moon Finally I come to understand as I rest in peace, between the lines On the tombstone inscribed above my head, this is the purest poem, I have ever read Constellations chatter in disbelief, why should this orb merit such fame? The pillars of creation stilled their tongues, ' you cannot understand such pain' Oh Medusa in the sky Our oceans are your tears once cried Your reflection on them froze your face, from horrors of our human race So grant me please, I beg you friend, your poem to rest my ashes in A gift I leave you in golden verse, may the earth release you of this curse Perhaps one day you will spin again, as the cow jumps over the gloom But for me, I rest in peace, on Sandra's lonely moon
