I Shall Not Go Easy

I shall not go easy into the final darkness Which all must enter at life's end But will roar and rage against its sweep Never tremble and cower as it engulfs Taking me far from those I love Knowing the truth that man is born to die Having known both joys and grief Testing the heart from birth to grave Being in love and being loved Ever striving towards the light Trusting we have a soul and God exists And he has prepared a place for us in Heaven Where eternal love and peace abide And we shall walk radiant with the angels.
