When I was a child time seemed paused, tranquil Delightful, bright summer days, adventurous Loving family and friends, games to play Christmases joyful, merry, full of love and glee Memories of smiles and laughter, with presents Paper hats, pulling crackers, turkey dinners. Wondrous times shared with parents and brother. Now, white-haired and in old age I wait alone With parents and brother gone, buried grave deep. On Christmas day I eat alone at table Then watch the Queen on TV giving her speech.
