I'm sixty-seven, but her songs still linger. A distinct voice flows with memories. Fragments of young days that I remember, Touch once again with the melodies. As I listen the years seem to fade, Erased by each song that was a part of me. Young once again, I let the past invade, And I dance in the heart quite freely. A quivering voice belts out 'Downtown' The lively beat catches me and I smile. 'This Is My Song' for the crush I have known, I am in high school...at least for a while. 'Don't Sleep In The Subway' plays on, And my kids wonder what I was dancing. I said the golden age of music is gone, 'You should hear our music -it's amazing!
