The Dead Cannot Smell The Flowers

Candles and flowers laid for the silent dead, Perhaps to make up for the words unsaid? A time of the year when the living remember Those who've gone before us to eternal slumber. The candles will melt like prayers said too late, For at death, Judgment's passed, that's a written fate. The dead cannot smell the flowers that are laid, It's for the living, their way to erase mistakes made. It is while we are here, alive and still breathing, That all the love and the time we should be giving To all those we love, while they can still hear - While they can still feel it, the ones we hold dear. Cynthia Buhain-Baello ~~~11.01.17 "It is appointed unto man to die once, and after that to face Judgment." Hebrews 9: 27 "Man is like a mere breath; His days are like a passing shadow. " Psalm 144: 4
