Thoughts On Mother's Day

I've counted the Mother's Days of long ago, When I would call my own mother to tell her so- That I miss the days when I was young and free When times were not so hard and she was with me. I've had my own Mother's Days every year, Times spent at home with my children near. But now I fear this Mother's Day will be my last - My friends have gone and spent that day in dust. Will I be here next year? That I do not know. My body's weak, to my eternal home I long to go. Perhaps spend Mother's Day with other mothers too And sing with lovely angels there a hymn or two!
