the Universe wanted to know
if we were there yet & that it wanted to wee wee
'Sit down...shut up...put yer safety belt on! ' I said
we finally got to where we were
...n't
the Universe asleep in the back seat
'God is an ocean...' I explain
'...that you can hear but not see.'
the Universe doesn't believe me
'That's just like the fairy tales
you make up for me! '
I can deny nothing
we return at once
the Universe sulking in the backseat
refusing to speak to me
