We build the snowman a companion to keep him warm. She's pretty if a bit too top heavy. You lend her an old bra that's had it pin a pair of saucy panties upon her. The snowman likes her like that one can tell that that isn't just an enormous icicle but that he is pleased to see her. We pack more snow around her body 'til she looks 9 months pregnant. Next day we deliver her. It's twins! Snowyboy & Snowygirl. Inside a shaken crystal ball the world is all snowflakes & stars. The Snows as we call our family join in with the carol singers singing joy to the world wish upon a falling star take on an orange flickery glow from our warm window leaving tracks as they come and go standing still in the silence of a midnight that could be now or a million years ago a street light staining this our new day nativity scene. ******** MAKING A SNOWMAN HAPPY So cold even the snowman looks miserable quickly you dash outside give him your ear muffs and muffler give him extra pieces of caol to braoden his grin you dash back in your tiny little hand is frozen I kiss your deaden fingertips back to life the snowman smiles. ****** FRED THE SNOWMAN(for Lynn) Being called upon to 'Come on in... ...this minute! ' but unwilling to leave my new found snowman friend I frown & quickly make a minature man smuggle him in to my bedroom his eyes wide with amazement at all my human things. He wants to read my books play with my toys but I tell him 'Hush! ' 'Stay there and don't move a muscle! ' My mother shouting 'Come on down...dindins! ' Being a good boy I do as I am told (only secretely being bold) . Afterwards I play by the fire my eyes aflame dancing with imagination. Now eager to be in bed to talk to Fred (my snowman's name) I find him gone nothing but a little puddle ...and an open window. I see at once what's happened. Fred got scared nervously weed himself and feeling a bit embarrassed ...nipped out the open window. I mop his wee-wee up! Awww...poor little thing! Aw, well... no bother I'll make him again tomorrow.
