The sea is watching
us as we
watch it.
The sea is stupendous
we are amazed at it.
It isn’t
impressed much with us.
We sit speechless.
Two humans unable to communicate.
The sea laughs
when a seagull
shits on us.
You curse.
“It could be worse! ”
I say.
“How? ”
you snap.
“It could have rained! ”
The thunder claps
like an impresario
and the rain as if
on curtain call
hits its cue and
falls...falls...falls.
“Oh...balls! ”
