The Nearness Of You

I gaze
at the molecules
as the end
of my fingertips
merge
with the molecules
at the end of yours
no longer
able to tell
us apart
each of us
gazing into
each other’s eyes
each other’s heart
touching
each
other
molecule by molecule.
