We have friends around the world
who are always in our thoughts.
Their voices can be heard all the time
in the things they write.
We walk with them
throughout their tragedies
with our words of comfort
from our many miles away.
We stretch our hands
out to hold them
wherever they may be.
Some people say
they are not friends
because friends can physically
hold one another tight.
However, they are wrong,
words can be just as strong
as any physical touch
if they are written honestly
and not to deceive,
then the caring they employ
comes from the heart.
