Goodbyes are never easy
for you never know
if you will ever meet again
after the hugs and then you are gone.
The memories of your meeting
will live your life through.
You will remember everything
living it repeatedly through.
That last wave as you depart
you hold close to your heart
always hoping for the next time
when you can hold them close again.
Goodbyes are never easy
our glazed eyes tell us so
as we look forward to the next time
and the welcome backs as we go.
