Today has been a day
for rolling back the roads
I have travelled down before.
Seeing the faces again
locked away in my memory store.
Today has been a day
for rolling back times gone by,
remembering with some sadness
the tears on occasions
that leaked from my eyes.
Today has been a day
for rolling back the past times
and the mistakes I made
and of the chances I had
but that were never taken.
Today has been a day
for rolling back the memories
and of the good fortune I have had
and to smile with pride
at the future I now have.
