Should I Die Tomorrow

Should I die tomorrow Lay me with my wife Shed not a tear of sorrow For I have tried my best in life My love she went before me A long long time ago And she will be the first I see For that I surely know I never did love another She was the only one for me The earth will be our cover Our home for all eternity I bequeathed all my belongings To the charities of the poor For I have no further longings As I go through Deaths dark door A new name will go on the headstone So carve our names with pride Now she’ll never sleep alone Together we’ll lie side by side As I leave this Earth behind Shed not a tear for me For new pastures we will find A whole new destiny
