Sonnet 81: On Nature

If you go down to the woods and listen At the sound of nature all around you To the Lark and humble cricket glisten As the sun awakens the morning dew. You will hear the most amazing sound Of bird song and crickets in the warm breeze And see squirrels coming from all around And hear the wind rustling through the trees. Cuckoo’s can be heard in the morning air Woodpeckers hammering away all day A brace of roe deer make a perfect pair As they both run and skip and jump and play. Nature’s wonder is beauty to behold To behold this beauty is worth more than gold.
