Lonely Tears....

Lonely tears upon my face so wet My sad broken heart replied with regret With your kind gentle words Ill not forget I finally learned to let go and off you went... Now these emotions deep within Twist​ed​ up and torn at the seam Will my shattere​d​ heart mend? Even when whispere​d​ tears are wept They hold no great secret kept. I've seen too many shooting stars Fall without granting a single wish And it didn't take long For tears to come back to greet Every​ thing​ I held precious Fell and shattere​d​ around my feet. For time does a broken heart tend Days dissolve into endless time to mend Tende​r​ memories play across my mind The bitter and sweet do not blend But the passing of loves end. My heart keeps asking why My soul does ache to try Becau​se​ some dreams were never meant like every promise thats never kept Will love ever bloom again? Past the fear, past the pain Does one dare to risk it all To let the heart take another fall To take one's heart off the shelf To completely risk one's own self. Will my heart not want to flee Can I think of more than me But I anxiously await For love to walk through that open gate For now it's only me and my pain and these lonely tears again
