So lonely alone am I My soul's lonesome in the crowd of loneliness It sounds sad and lonely Hiding loneliness alone The lonely lone alone Lonely is a single traveller On a dark and winding road. Lonely is the burden Of carrying a heavy load. Lonely is a beautiful song That no one's ever heard, And lonely is the wait for death For a broken winged bird.
