The heart of yours was given to a man By virtue of marriage And with the blessing of your parents Barely were you a flower then When sepals struggled to hold you unblemished And condemned was the corolla to be flourished Then were you plucked and gifted to a stranger Young hearts met and no love lost In between the marriage to consummate Joy was the consequence With the showering of a lovely baby In your lap from heaven Indeed a baby gift to a baby child Being so transformed into mama primitively Angelique smiled, as you always stood dazzled And as if bathed in springtide Sad or happy none could surmise Being woman and mother were as if your things of play When childhood was supposed to be your privilege Love, lust, greed and smell all combined made the bee To hover and sip off sweet and leave you a dry treat As you were seen with no child and man beside Still you are seen walking down the street with a big smile And the man with another woman is seen strolling countryside with your child You dress up with elegance You put on powder and lipstick in abundance Thinking to lure your man one day But time is strolling away Leaving you in the lurch and loneliness And that is pushed aside and glorified by your innocence But sometimes I see tears welled up in your eyes As if fancied by an intuition That your man will never come back again
