Blessings Of Night

Dark and dusky And I call it black beauty With fertilizing tears They sprinkle water On plants and crops to sustain all Of life big and small and good and evil Dark and lovely With outlines bluish and grey Seem to swallow and consume all But with moisture rejuvenate the depths of the soil Where seeds in darkness sleep and dream of heaven Upon sprouting into plants and corn There is this life, love, pain and the cosmos Yet abstruse is the meaning of such things Even with the substance of letters And with the claims made by the science loftier Still man stops not to explore the depth For dark is also vital for birth In a dark ambience Around us there is a material world to sense And that could be guessed and surmised But where is the real world Looks shrouded in mystery at even The sharpest mind flounders and uses the intuition But poets know it as the intricate creation of God That by perception and logic couldn't be subsumed So while portraying people and Nature Poets embrace dark-luminosity and gentle-power Dark are our charming divinities Radiant are dark rain-clouds in plenty And from the womb of silent night Is born a child into the world of light Though clueless we are to our own cosmos Still we see "the Light" coming from the vastness of such cute darkness So is the mind enlightened with sleep and rest Induced by peace, darkness and beauty of night
