In grief
- - - - -
May be summer at its best
Brings blazing heat
And parching thirst
With passion most
Even sweet notes falling flat
And winter goes not slowest
Summer and spring gone past
Days cut down to shortest
Flowers and songs are deficit
Leafless and bare is life
Looking desolate
And autumn at its gravest
Souls look cheerless and dullest
Shivering like leaves
To fall to bed brown for rest
And loneliest they are
Wandering up and down the streets
Quite forgetful of path unlit
And God sitting sublime and silent
Watching you and your pangs of clime
Those restless
Shall be loaded with more plights
And those at peace
Like a saint
Shall be asked to join the heaven
And sit God beside
Still I see hope
In not giving up to grief
By drinking the wine-divine
Though God has His own thinking
Whom to relieve and whom to grieve……
