On The Wings Of Winter

When north wind beckons to her She abides forthwith like a docile lover And comes adorned with apparels white and soft, Cold and pearly charming us with delight Of beauty so subtle and heavenly And could be felt palpably but seen barely Pregnant with things of dream and divine at the time Of vernal equinox she carries through to be ripe On winter solstice to deliver a bud Of soul called "New Year" to the world of mankind Blessed many a thousand with And to come yet many here with As long as there is sun and moon in the heaven And earth loved and worshiped like a shrine Celebrated in pomp and magnificence of a birth So noble at the stroke of midnight zooms in joy and mirth To many young and old with hopes, aspirations and resolution Some truly achieved and some sadly backed down Though life goes on and on till the closure Irrespective of success and failure For the fleeting time hardly gives us pause to think over And life so short a span its wings are flapped quicker Than our breath like a clashing thunder not known When it comes and goes out unsaid and unseen But my friends, your lifetime is not as small as of an insect You are a great soul as profound as a planet Years will come and years will go So are lives with no end to the flow It's one as glorious as among many has come Let's embrace it forgetting all gloom And celebrate every day as New Year's Day And every passing day as golden day Though it comes on the wings of winter It warms all with new beginnings and hopes like a breather So why waste time on the past Come and illuminate the present and see yourself and the future shining bright For life is but a lovely little flower Bloomed to last only for some hours I cherish my dreams On sharing your feelings and reading your poems Though some days have already passed It's not too late to wish you a thing so profound And because of coincidence of this fate I am here Being so privileged to wish you all a "Happy New Year"
