Down A Lane, Into A Grove

(for Abdelhaq Djellab's 'Landscape, ' posted April 15) ... ... ... ... ... The quiet excitation of colors is juicy and tremulous... all the shapes are jostling to be part of the scene... Their patchwork assortment is a neighborhood happening; within the time-frame of a stroll through the grove, it is monumental. Details offset each other as this composition unrolls; they hang together, even as their arrangement crumbles… and yet I can join in their onward tumble, without a sense of precarity, relinquishing colors and shapes that fit so well together... feeling confident of the wonderment that waits around the corner.
