Humongonyms (I.E., Big Words)

There are words that have perturbed each other's orbits for a long time, words that need to exchange radio signals due to their gulfs of meaning, words that don't gravitate to analogous places in a decent parallel construction, and they won't give you a grip on whether they're synonyms or antonyms, because they either could be contronyms passing as homonyms, or separate words that can't agree on how they're different. When I think of 'human NATURE' and 'the beauty of NATURE, ' I imagine the English tongue must have nodded off just when it was supposed to be coining words. The makers of fine distinctions had gathered at our language's central coffee shop, but the big talkers were feeling crotchety. A circular argument ran away with them, and they thought they were being witty by making one word do double duty; thus they cursed us with a dreary pairing, that yields no insight when delved into. If I love 'being out in nature, ' that is aesthetics--- it's a response to being in the natural world--- but 'getting to the bottom of human nature' is for those who posit essences of things. I want to pursue them separately forever, * but a fluke of coinage says, 'Reconcile them.' As for the deficiencies of those kaffee- klatches that inflicted the flip-flops of 'subject' and 'object' on us and the semantic quirks of existential verbs, in Greek and later languages, that are supposed to disclose the ground of being... please don't get me started!
