Poetry Is Forever With Us

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Poetry is forever with us, As long as thoughts become words, Phrases and sentences. As long as sentences become paragraphs, Separated into lines, should they rhyme or not, And if that means the poetry is the epitome Of the elegance of eloquence, Then great blessings must surely follow. Therefore poetry is forever with us, As long as the human heart experiences Both joy and sorrow and even love or hate, For in this world which we live, We see it full of contrasts and comparisons, Worthy of a poet's final hour of life to share Before that long-slept sleep Takes charge of the mortal frame And bids both soul and spirit enter The greatness of that realm beyond That Man has called Eternity.
