Special Pair!

The two white tiger cubs looked grand In blue, and black and white, Within the frame I held by hand, A picture of delight. In wondrous detail to behold If never seen before, A miracle, as good as gold, That I could not ignore. Within this canvas, I held close Their eyes were dazzling blue, Such that my wonder grows and grows, As this was something new. And were their black-and-white coats wise? I thought of these as strange. I knew that tigers had brown eyes, So why this sudden change? I hoped white tigers prospered still, Beyond these changes seen, Like others, I have felt a thrill, Beyond what's always been. The Bengal tigers, gold and brown, Are wondrous to behold, And yet white tigers take the crown, In beauty, truth be told! Denis Martindale.4th of March 2026.
