Through It All

Thousands of poems came through me as if I had to share, Despite the years of poverty, God placed them in my care. No sweetheart granted as my bride, no child to smile nearby, Nobody left at my right side to see me laugh or cry. I lived in houses not my own for almost fifty years. At last today, here, home alone, while others have careers. Without a job for forty years, I chose to persevere! As long as God in Heaven hears, I know My God draws near! A pensioner! Disabled, too! And lonely every day! And life's a painful thing to view, yet I'm here, come what may! Despite this body, now in bits, more poems I will rhyme. So I plough on while God permits for one day at a time! I own the house in which I live, so fewer bills exist. To God, the money left I give as His evangelist. So I buy Bibles now and then! New Testaments as well! Who knows, but God, how many men His Word will save from Hell? God's blessings granted me success, no matter what some say! To gain God's love, that's happiness, till God calls me away! Denis Martindale, for the 29th of April 2024.
