Altın Yaprak
This palm cross reminds
Us of the blood sacrifice.
This purifying water
Eases the eternal burden.
This softly burning candle
Confirms my noble calling.
This meagre, corded rosary
Contains my vivid dreaming.
These pink and white blossoms
Resurrect the buried life.
These symbols of rebirth,
Borrowed from springtime,
Illuminate meaning and
Strengthen our purpose.
These slow processions.
Constituted of solemn,
Yet spirited, biblical visions,
Calm restless, aching bones.
These old liturgies of Grace.
Quieten this lost, hysterical age.
