Every five years, to mark an X
For our preferred candidate.
It's a perfunctory task:
Requiring little thought or effort.
We're like B.F Skinner's rats
Conditioned to pressing levers
For small rewards it seems.
Unfortunately, that's as far as our
‘Noble' democracy stretches.
