Our Christmas Tree

O our Christmas tree abounds with dazzling lights,
Golden baubles, candy canes of red and white!
It's filled with delicious chocolate treats
Wrapped in silver. And on a heavenly seat,
An angel sits atop, next to Advent's star.
Comfort and Joy are close, when once they seemed far.
Hearts and minds that have frozen, will now surely
Melt, in this season's goodwill that sets us free
From habitual ways and self-centred creeds.
Christmas time symbolises our deepest needs.
