Space race mentality:
Cool aluminium obsessions;
Comic book fantasies:
From busy Buck Rodgers'
To fearless Flash Gordon's.
Small rocket ships and 'brave' men
Naively bust forth into
The horror of the abyss;
Born of profound ignorance:
All about putting flags on the moon;
All about colonising realms
We do not understand.
