O Art's depiction of the sublime grips my heart,
As it draws out the most intense light from the dark
Realms of the world. It rises from ashes of birds
Like the fiery phoenix: in thunderstorms of words,
And wild lightning flashes of music and painting.
It triumphs over the merely pleasant. It brings
Us to an appreciation of Nature's power.
It is evident in Van Gogh's blazing flowers.
