A baby boy is born in Bethlehem; A manger in an inn is where he lies; The only Son of God sans diadem! He sleeps on hay but bears heavenly ties. In swaddled clothes, his mother keeps him warm; The winter’s cold is freezing with snow-flakes; As angels sing praise hymns and like bees swarm, In pangs of hunger, baby boy then wakes. Some shepherds hear the news, come worship him; The Star of Bethlehem guides Magi three; The baby king brings joy, peace to world grim; Emmanuel has chosen poverty! The babe is Savior of the human race, Forgiving sins of men with heaven’s grace!
