Sonnet: God Tests Us Often

Perhaps, God wants to test my loyalty; The kind of faith I have in my Maker: By causing suff’rings, tests my fealty, If I’m a providential test-taker. And these are all my days of acid-test! The reckoning of my love for my one God, ’Fore He becomes my soul’s permanent Guest! His ways are mysterious, unique and odd. But why should I have fear or doubt in Him? For He’s the Almighty, my Friend and Guide; He’s my Light! How can my way grow dim? Let me in Him wholly, blindly abide. And yet, I plead my God to give me grace, To reinforce my faith and my soul’s base.
