Sonnet: In Earthly Life

Most things we do in life appear in vain; Most decisions we take seem incorrect; Attempts we make in worldly life are bane: Sad plight of Homo sapiens who’s erect! We must not measure labor with money; We can’t return our parents’ love in life; We cannot gauge Bees’ toil that makes honey; God compensates our efforts ’midst our strife. The love of man for God is not so deep; The love of God which made us is so great; His code of conduct, every man must keep; God helps us always to improve our fate. Sometimes, our earthly life seems like a drill; Nevertheless, we ought to do God’s will! Copyright by Dr John Celes 3-21-2008
