Sonnet: On Going Abroad

Going abroad is good if one affords; It helps to see and know the world at large; The beauty of the visit knows no words; The experience away is worth the charge! May be, you see skyscrapers and fast cars, And people spick and span, law-abiding; May be, you earn more, turning quickly stars; To some, it serves to go into hiding! But world is same wherever, you may go; Discipline, freedom are found everywhere; As aliens, more stress we must undergo; There is no place as sweet as home to care. And when returning, what relief, one gets! Sun rises in the east and in west, sets! Copyright by Dr John Celes 12-11-12
